For golfers like Elsa Diaz hoping to make it as a professional, finding ways to stay connected to the sport and honing their skills while earning money is a challenge. That’s why caddying ended up being the perfect fit for Elsa.

A golfer friend shared that Briggs Ranch, a Dormie Network-owned property just outside of Elsa’s hometown of San Antonio, Texas, was looking for caddies to add to the club’s caddie pool. The flexibility of caddying appealed to Elsa, who needed options to fund her professional golf career.

Briggs Ranch partners with CaddieNow to manage its caddie program. Its tech platform and complementary mobile app make it easy for caddie managers to onboard, schedule, and communicate with caddies. Caddies can accept new loops in the CaddieNow mobile app, track information about golfers they’ve worked with in the past, and get paid for loops.

Elsa typically works five to 10 loops per week at Briggs, typically taking loops with the club’s corporate members. She says not only has caddying through CaddieNow given her the flexibility to keep working on her game, but working with individuals of different skill levels has sharpened her skills in green reading and course management. It’s also opened doors for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Elsa says she started caddying to fund her professional career, but she’s gained much more than that. “CaddieNow has been such a wonderful experience for me,” she says. “I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from all over the country with different backgrounds and stories.” She’s also connected with individuals who have offered financial assistance as she chases her dream of being on the LPGA tour, to host her for tournaments, and connect her with others who might be willing to help. “Plus, caddying has helped my golf game tremendously!” she says.

Elsa says above all, caddying has taught her that at the end of the day, golf is a game that must be enjoyed, regardless of the outcome.
